I have been taking lessons at Fred Astaire Columbus northwest for about a year and a half now. I started with Fred Astaire in the Woodlands Texas so when my wife and I moved to Columbus we were thrilled to continue be able to continue dancing here. Before committing to this studio I tried out several other studios in the area and since I have been a student here I have danced at several more dance studios in Columbus. I can objectively say that Fred Astaire Columbus Northwest is the absolute best studio in Columbus. What really makes this place special are the instructors, Carolyn, Zack and Sarah are incredibly knowledgeable and experienced dancers. The difference I have noticed with them compared to other studios is that they do not hold anything back, if you want to learn how to dance like a pro they will teach you. I have enjoyed my time with other instructors and studios but I definitely feel I have made the most growth as a dancer in my time here. Another great thing about Columbus Northwest is the community, all of the regular students are super friendly and open to talking to and dancing with new students. I love how supportive of new dancers the community is. Daniel Tackett the owner of the studio is also a great guy! His positive attitude and love of dancing influences the atmosphere of the studio and helps to create a fun environment. Over the past 3+ years ballroom dancing has become one of my greatest passions and I do still continue to visit other dance studios in the area however I am always proud to return to Columbus Northwest and call it my dance home. I look forward to dancing here for a long time. I hope this review can inspire those considering trying out dancing to choose this studio.
Daniel and Simona are excellent teachers of ballroom dancing. They are a very accomplished professional dancers. Their instruction is kind, patient and nourishing. Its also so much fun. I have been a student for 2 years and made many new friends. It now feels like family.. They have a large dance floor. What ever you want to learn they can teach. Come and join the fun.
We have NEVER danced before. Hunter and Simona are patient and encouraging. We learn new moves at every lesson. We often see advanced dancers there, so clearly they can help good dancers get even better. But I highly recommend them for beginners lkje us.
We used Fred Astaire dance studio to choreograph our first dance of our wedding. Our instructor was William. He took two guys who had never had experience with dancing, and made a complete hit out of our first dance! Cannot recommend enough!
My husband and I were in Columbus awhile ago and had the pleasure of visiting this Fred Astaire Dance Studio. This is a gorgeous studio...newly remodeled & very clean decorated for the season. Their dance floor is made of high quality spring wood floor and they even had advanced computerized sound system. : ) The Studio owner Dan and his instructors all were there and they were so welcoming. We each took an introductory private lesson that consisted of several dance rhythms. The instructors were excellent at teaching good techniques while still making it fun for both of us. I have some ballroom dance experience, but haven't danced much over the past 20yrs so this was so exciting and i loved the dance instruction. My husband has less dance experience and he even really liked how the instructor was able to adjust to his level and at the same time challenged him to learn new steps. The instructors were so friendly and so personable...they are true dance professionals and they know their stuff!!! We would love to visit again and take some more lessons!!
