12/11/2024 - One of the hardest things I have ever done in my life, surrendering one of my fur babies because of health reason. Prior to my visit I called, spoke to a staff member, she explained their process, and made an appointment for an intake. The staff member was pleasant, empathetic, sympathetic. The day of the intake, the staff members were professional and understanding of what was about to happen. Since then, she has been put up for adoption, and is being taken care of. I’ve been able to call in and check in on her. All calls are returned. I miss her terribly. I remain optimistic that she will find a new home and receive the same love she got when she was me. Thank you Columbus Humane for providing a temporary home for her. Professional and friendly staff. Veterinarians onsite. Parking in front of the building and parking in front of the Adoption Center (to the right of the main entrance). Appointment required for surrendering your pet. There is a fee to surrender your pet.
I got my two kittens here and I ended up bringing my friend back a year later to get her cats here too. Both experiences were perfect. They are so friendly, kind and helpful here!!! I felt amazing adopting from them and knew my little fur babies had been in great care with them. Plus, they make sure they send all their animals with up to date vaccinations, fixing, microchipping, and walk you through any history they have about your animal (even though it is often not much given the circumstances).
I adopted a cat month ago from Columbus Humane, and it was the BEST decision I’ve ever made! ☺️ my cat is doing so much better now with running around and having fun at my house, and not only keeping me busy, but also making me happy for anything that she does.
The staff at Columbus Humane were kind and patient during the process. While they didn’t have much accurate information about Win initially, I was able to contact his former owner (thanks to his microchip) and learned he was previously a service dog for an elderly man on dialysis who sadly passed away. Although I was initially concerned about a post-neuter infection due to the lack of a protective collar (apparently CH only gives them to dogs that are fidgety), VCA provided antibiotics, and he recovered. I do think all dogs should get collars as a precaution, but I appreciate the free vet visit voucher and other perks like choosing a leash and the Lamb Chop toy he loves. Win has been amazing! He already helps me find my keys and phone, and he offers deep pressure therapy when I’m overwhelmed—perfect for my ADD and Autism without extra training. I’m so grateful to Columbus Humane for connecting us! UPDATE 12/19/24: Took him for his first professional groom at Woof Gang Dublin, and they did a fantastic job. He’s all ready for Christmas! I couldn’t be happier with my Win. Thank you, Columbus Humane! ????
